Keywords rule the internet.
As webmasters, we want to write articles about things that people search for.
We want Google to list us on page 1 of the search results for that term.
We want people to click through to our sites.
So – we start looking for terms that are well searched and worth a lot of money, either per click or relate well to a profitable affiliate program.
This works well for some people. Really well.
But for others like me – keywords can be restricting.
Focusing on the numbers made my writing mechanical and boring. With nothing new to offer.
I was not proud of my work.
When people asked me about my sites – I would mumble something about the general topics, but I never offered up the URL’s. I really didn’t want them to visit these hollow homes that I had built.
But keywords are important.
My problem was that I was too literal. When someone tells me what to do – I want to do exactly that – with no room for interpretation.
Wrong approach.
I will tell you how I escaped keyword bondage and achieved keyword freedom (yay!) tomorrow.
