Life is Short. Do What You Love.

I have spent the past few years – sitting in front of my computer.

Learning. Doing. Learning. Doing.

I have explored many different platforms, software, websites, social websites, and just about everything new that came along.

I learned a lot, created a lot, and wasted a lot of time.

My kids have grown up a bit, I have gotten a little older (but not much ;-) ).

And I have come to the understanding – that I cannot do it all.

Conquering the web takes a big chunk out of life.

Carving out a little piece is a much more reasonable goal – and much more achievable too.

My most important lesson is to not waste precious time on things that provide no personal satisfaction. Be it sites, or social media, or any other scheme.

If you love it – do it. If you don’t – move on.

And on any given day – I would be willing to bet that if you are doing something that you enjoy – it will bring you the most success over time.

I say this on a site about building an internet business – because it is far to easy to get caught up in the online world.

Everyone is on Twitter – so I should be tweeting.

Everyone is on Facebook – so I should build a page there.

My site could perform better if I do X, Y or Z.

I need to build hundreds of sites to make money online.

And before you know it years have passed.

Don’t fall into that trap.

Figure out what you like to do and do it well.

Pick one thing.

Set yourself a goal of what you want to achieve in the next 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year.

When you hit your goals. Reevaluate. And set some new ones.

If you are happy – you will flourish.
